Have you SEEN your eye doctor lately? Eye have!
Have you SEEN your eye doctor lately? Eye have!

Seeing your eye doctor for a comprehensive eye exam is the best way to protect your vision. While telemedicine is awesome, nothing beats an in-person checkup.

If you are a healthy adult (no glasses and no risk factors), how often should you see an eye doctor? Here’s what The American Academy of Ophthalmology @aaoeye recommends:

➡ Adults Under 40: Every 5 – 10 years

➡ 40 – 54: Every 2 – 4 years

➡ 55 – 64: Every 1 – 3 years

➡ 65+: Every 1 – 2 years

@americanoptometricassociation has slightly different guidelines (in general, they recommend visits every 1-2 years).

No matter what, if you wear contact lenses or have diabetes, you should get an eye exam once a year!
